170 Reasons to Believe in the Next Generation
June 8, 2026
This spring, the Ann Bancroft Foundation awarded 170 grants to girls and gender-expansive youth across 25 counties in Minnesota.
Each application offered a window into a bold dream. From traveling this summer and launching small businesses to competing in global competitions, performing on national stages, preparing for college, and building leadership skills, these young people are leading with imagination, resilience, and heart.
Together, this spring’s grantees represent a powerful cross-section of our state:
- 40.59% of grant recipients live in West Metro counties, including Anoka, Carver, Hennepin, and Scott counties
- 31.76% live in Greater Minnesota
- 27.65% of grant recipients live in East Metro counties, including Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties
Below, we are proud to spotlight nine grant recipients whose dreams reflect the depth, creativity, and boldness of the opportunities funded this spring.
