Néepa Hyde

10th Grade, Rice County
2026 Spring Grantee

Néepa will attend the United National Indian Tribal Youth (UNITY) Conference this summer, where she will showcase her community art and seed stewardship project. Through the project, she will create seed beads and bracelets for people to share and replant in their communities.

Néepa’s bold dream is to run for the UNITY National Executive Committee and represent the northeastern region. As a Shinnecock woman, she hopes to build intertribal youth relationships while focusing on environmental science and Indigenous-centered solutions.

“This UNITY conference would make my leadership journey truly meaningful as I aid and serve my tribal community on the national level. During the conference, I hope to connect with youth from Northeastern tribes and create solutions to issues like rising sea levels and cultural revitalization.”
