Salina Madsen

Salina’s bold dream is to learn more about backpacking and be more confident outdoors. She wants to gain skills and knowledge about nature and leadership that she can later share with others. The Trailblazer Fellowship grant will provide the opportunity to go on a Boundary Waters experience next summer. 

Salina is involved in multiple activities and clubs, including Climate Club, History Day Club, Girl Scouts, cross country, Nordic skiing, track, rowing, and ballet. She enjoys trying new things and being challenged to think outside the box. Salina hopes that her passions for nature and learning can provide opportunities in the future to protect the environment and encourage other girls. 

Salina is passionate about climate change and protecting the environment. Salina shared, “I would like to learn more about what I can do to help (including through the Wilderness Camp) and change some policies and teach people how to make a difference.”
