Lessons I’d offer my younger self
- Being you is the best thing you can be. There truly is no other you. And no one has it all figured out! Do not show up to be perfect or to blend in. Authenticity is the most admirable thing. So show up as you are in all spaces.
- It isn’t about you. The way people treat you, is 98% of the time about them. Don’t take it personal. Remind yourself that the way people react and respond “is not about me, it’s about them.” Even when they act like it’s about you, it’s usually not.
- The events of today don’t define your future. Just as a grain of sand doesn’t make up an entire beach neither does the happenings of today make up the entirety of your worth. Hold every experience in your hand, feel it, learn from it and then let it go and move on.
