Paris Reno

14, Ramsey County
2026-27 Trailblazer Fellow

Paris’ bold dream is to work in the medical field to help people of color navigate their way through the healthcare system. With the Trailblazer Fellowship grant, Paris will go on an HBCU college tour this fall to visit campuses in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama.

Paris is involved in various community leadership activities, including the Rites of Passage held by the Black Youth Healing Arts Center, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Central High School Student Leadership Program, and Youth Leadership Initiative.

Paris’ first ABF grant was used for college and career exploration. She first attended a university Scrubs Camp to help expand her knowledge of medical materials and aid her dream of working in the medical field. She then went on a week-long trip to tour HBCU campuses in the Carolinas.

When asked what advice she would offer her younger self, Paris shared, “I would tell her it’s ok to be nervous about things because it’s normal, but don’t ever hold yourself back because of your nervousness. Always hold yourself to high standards and don’t lower them for the expectations of others.”
