Nora Ngaling
Nora Ngaling is a Senior from Woodbury, Minnesota, whose big, bold dream is to create welcoming spaces for girls to connect through sharing her passion for doing hair! While being a part of the Trailblazer Fellowship cohort, she's hoping to use the grant to launch community braiding workshops for girls ages 13 and older. She wants to teach skills that would follow girls for the rest of their lives, while building confidence, creativity, and meaningful connections.
During Nora’s freshman year in high school, she used her first Ann Bancroft grant to fund an HBCU college tour. The tour was able to put into perspective all the opportunities for her in higher education, and was an extremely eye-opening experience that gave her the confidence to dream bigger.
Nora is actively involved in her school and community as president of the Black Student Union, a student board representative, a varsity track captain, HOSA social media manager, and a member of Student Council. She enjoys reading, advocacy, and finding ways to serve her community through leadership. Nora has felt outspoken her whole life, saying how "Being emotional is actually one of my strengths. It allows me to connect with people, be empathetic, and understand others on a deeper level."
