NK Attama

17, Hennepin County
2026-27 Trailblazer Fellow

NK’s biggest dream is to become a doctor and use medicine to make a real difference in her community. NK will be using the Trailblazer Fellowship grant to fund her undergraduate education as she pursues studying medicine.

NK is involved in Health Hub, volleyball, social media manager, cooking, Student Senate, and Black Student Union.

NK used her initial ABF Grant to fund her dream of playing club volleyball. Volleyball really helped to gain more confidence, learn leadership skills, and to grow more as a person. Overall, volleyball has had a positive impact on NK and has given her confidence in everything she does.

NK is proud they have learned to turn pressure into purpose. NK shared, “For a long time, I felt like I had to prove myself in every room I entered. As a Black student, athlete, and leader, I noticed how easily people underestimated me before I even spoke. Instead of shrinking myself to fit those expectations, I decided to grow beyond them.”
