Lauren Skar joined the Ann Bancroft Foundation in January 2023 as the Program Coordinator. Her commitment is to support the mission of the organization while developing and expanding programming efforts. Lauren is responsible for building and sustaining the outreach network across Minnesota, managing the granting programs, and supporting alumnae relations programming. She is looking forward to being involved in a nonprofit organization that recognizes and supports the pursuit of a young girl’s dream in Minnesota.

Lauren is a 2018 ABF Trailblazer and used her grant to pursue her dream of playing volleyball at the collegiate level. Her Trailblazer experience led her to play volleyball as a four-year right-side hitter at St. Catherine University. During her time at St. Kate’s, Lauren was the Program Intern at ABF in 2022 and supported programming efforts that year.

Lauren earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Public Policy, and Economics with a minor in Spanish from St. Catherine University.

Lauren is Vice Chair for the Chester Bowl Improvement Club Board of Directors and the Center for Youth Voice Board of Directors. Lauren is a member of the Women's Foundation of Minnesota Participatory Grantmaking Committee. She also volunteers as a Program Specialist for the Youth in Government conference and as an adaptive ski instructor for Courage Kenny Recreation.

In her free time, Lauren likes to be outdoors year-round! Her favorites are hiking, camping, and canoeing in the summer and alpine or Nordic skiing in the winter. Lauren enjoys spending quality time with friends and family or an afternoon with a craft or book.
