Heather Haynes

Development Director

Heather joined the Ann Bancroft Foundation team in February 2026. She is an experienced nonprofit leader specializing in fund development, community building and stewardship, and achieving goals. Heather has worked with a diverse range of organizations as a development professional and board member, from the arts to the environment, from sustainable agriculture to food cooperatives to healthcare, from community radio to addressing youth homelessness and youth empowerment. Her goal with every role is to strengthen relationships and foster sustainable, joy-filled futures for people and our planet.

Heather has been engaging with the nonprofit sector for more than 25 years, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Design from Carleton College and a Master of Arts in Philanthropy & Development from St. Mary’s University.

While Heather tends to spend a lot of her time focusing on her professional commitments, when not working she is often found with family and friends, in her gardens, or tucked away (indoors with cats or outdoors with birds and squirrels) reading a book. She enjoys walks by the Mississippi River (and other bodies of water), camping, being “crew” for her daughter’s “multi-modal” extreme sports and adventures, and spending time in bookstores, art galleries, and museums on rainy days.
