The Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee utilizes key resources and relationships to provide an avenue of collaboration and outreach to expand ABF awareness and scope with all stakeholders. The Committee identifies opportunities to positively represent the Ann Bancroft Foundation’s purpose and mission to increase engagement with grantees, mentors, schools, and supporters.

Committee Requirements:

  • Positively represent the ABF purpose and mission and promoting the grant program using our brand and making a commitment to pursue objectives of the committee
  • To support and develop potential opportunities and partnerships for applicants and mentors
  • Assist ABF in recruiting and establishing relationships with potential referral and resource partners skills and strengths
  • Demonstrated passion for youth development and empowering young girls.
  • Willingness to be creative in the development of new ideas for outreach.
  • Skills to communicate effectively in front of a group or promote new ideas
  • Support of the mission of ABF.
  • Willingness to engage with girls, parents, mentors, and partners.

Desired Skills/Strengths:

Committee Membership:

  • Membership on this committee is open to non-board members as well as current ABF board members.
  • In addition to staff and committee chair, we are adding a “junior ambassador” and outreach stewards in key cities within the state to increase our access to schools, past grantees, and mentors.

Time required of Committee members:

  • 15-25 hours per year including meetings, communications, and work in the field.
  • Each committee member is recommended to serve at least 2 years for continuity of experience and knowledge

Committee Charge:

  • Committee is charged with connecting ABF with key partners and communities across the state to increase awareness of our granting program, recruiting and establishing new partnerships, and expanding the network of mentors and activity providers.
  • Committee is charged to enhance the overall ABF experience and influence to ultimately grow the number of applicants, mentors, and partners involved with the organization to support strategic goals.
