Ann Bancroft established the Ann Bancroft Foundation (ABF) in 1991. Ann’s goal was to eliminate barriers for girls to achieve their dreams. For 24 years, the Ann Bancroft Foundation has inspired and encouraged girls to imagine something bigger. We strive to build confidence and offer tools that will allow a girl to go after her dreams and feel supported along the way.  Through grants, mentorship, and ongoing development opportunities, the Ann Bancroft Foundation is giving Minnesota girls the strength to achieve their full potential. ABF has awarded more than $2 million in grants to 5,000+ girls throughout Minnesota.

Job Purpose & Description

The Executive Director is an unapologetic champion for ABF’s mission and is driven to make life-changing opportunities available to all girls in Minnesota.  As the leader of the organization, the ED is responsible for strategic direction, maintaining strong community partnerships, expanding the reach of ABF, working closely with the board of directors to raise the annual budget, and managing the financial operations.  To accomplish these tasks, the ED must demonstrate strong relationship-building skills. This individual must be self-motivated and goal-driven and able to work with a high degree of independence. The ED must be comfortable and confident in dealing with all levels of organizational leadership, volunteers, key stakeholders, and corporate/foundation partners, and high-capacity donors.

 

Required Qualifications

Professional Experience.  (10) ten years of professional experience, with at least (4) four being in development-related activities and (4) four as a talent manager of two or more full-time staff.  Also, a proven track record of managing outcomes in a high-performing goal-oriented environment.

Inclusion. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, and or a demonstrated commitment to advancing equity and social justice.

Travel. Open to traveling in Minnesota several times during the year. 

Key Responsibilities and Job Duties

·      Oversee the organization’s mission and its implementation for ABF in the community

·      Communicate the mission and vision of the organization to a wide variety of community and regional stakeholders

·      Maintain a positive, collaborative, inclusive, and passionate ABF culture

·      Model and monitor adherence to policies and procedures

·      Effective staff management, including feedback for effective staff performance

·      Lead the implementation of goals, objectives, and strategies to generate sustainable, diversified revenue for annual and long-term development needs

·      Identify, cultivate, and solicit support from individuals, organizations, businesses, and government

·      Build the solicitation program to achieve ongoing growth in both cash and future commitments of support, developing both long-term solicitation strategies and an effective stewardship effort to maintain support from existing donors

·      Lead implementation of strategic plan and priorities

·      Manage, grow, improve, and enhance programs throughout Minnesota that are consistent with ABF’s strategic plans and ensure the effective operation and delivery of programs 

·      Execute annual benchmarks and metrics to measure success including regular reports to stakeholders

·      Engage alumni and mentors as part of the ABF experience and seek opportunities to support alumni

·      Lead internal and external diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in accordance with the mission and strategic plan

·      Oversee management of the financial matters impacting ABF, including annual budgets, and spending, regular financial reporting, and compliance with all regulatory requirements

·      Work closely with the Board Chair and Executive Committee to ensure the Board adheres to governance best practices that maximize board input, engagement, and stewardship

·      Support a healthy and vibrant work culture that emphasizes collaboration, utilize the skills, passion, and potential of staff to advance both individual career aspirations and goals of ABF

You have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including the board of directors, donors, institutional partners, volunteers, staff, and be a fixture in the community who is inspirational and a proactive connector.

The Ability to Execute on Fundraising Plans and Strategies That Generate Significant Results. You extensively use data to drive decision-making and reflect on your rigorous and donor-centered plans for sustaining and growing your donor base and revenue. You have strong prospect research skills and a solid understanding of moves management.
