| The Ann Bancroft Foundation and its generous donors and mentors help underserved girls take the first steps toward fresh possibilities.
An ABF micro-grant—up to $500—funds small experiences for girls. Through the funded experience, and with a mentor’s guidance, girls gain a new perspective on their own abilities and goals. |
ABF micro-grant recipients have had a wide variety of adventures. Our donors and mentors have helped girls tour with a choir, attend space camp, learn a foreign language, play sports, and take classes. As they explore the outside world, recipients also explore themselves, beginning to recognize their own abilities, values, and strengths. |
No matter what interest a girl pursues through an ABF micro-grant, program mentors nudge her to use the experience as a springboard to the next exploration—and the next, and the next. Girls discover new self-confidence and self-knowledge as they open their eyes to the broader world—and to new possibilities within themselves. |
